Dark Side of the Moon . . .

I am by no means a morning person. Fact is, I'm firmly convinced that anytime before 6:00 a.m. is really the middle of the night!

However, on one occasion in 1996, I found myself driving at 4:00 a.m on my way to pick up some youth for a weekend retreat. The moon was beautiful that night (or was it morning?), and because the sky was so clear, I could see the outline of the entire moon even though it wasn't full (I can't remember which quarter it was in - remember, it was the middle of the night).

I began to think about that dark part of the moon. It intrigued me that God had created the moon, Earth and Sun to move in such a way that one side of the moon never saw sunlight. What planning!!!!

And then I began to realize there are many people just like that "Dark side." They spend their entire lives living just outside of the light. They live dark, miserable, cold lives, and if they would just "turn around," there is light! The light of Jesus.

If you feel all alone like you're lost in the dark, I pray that you'll let the light of Jesus warm you, refresh you and give you life!
